We have been seeing an increase in emails like this one below. While the Sender, Subject, and wallet ID change, these emails have a lot of things in common...
They are a hoax. While it's TRUE that your computer could be infected by malware, the method of that infection is often something you were complicit in. Opening dangerous attachments, visiting websites which requested you install "viewer software" or similar, failing to maintain your computer's antivirus, and security updates, etc.
When your computer suffers from an actual ransomware attack, you will normally receive a popup on the computer itself or a file on your desktop with instructions. The reason these people send you an email, is that it is the only thing they are capable of doing. Their hope is that by sending thousands of emails that they will trick you into sending them money.
IF you follow their instructions to send them money, there is no way to get it back, and you will have given them futher reason to continue the hoax.
Your anti-virus or anti-spam software may not block all these emails. In general, the more sensitive the software, the more likely there are false positives - which might be ok for some people, but sometimes not for people in business who might have legitimate reasons for using the very keywords these emails might contain.
